The Development Kit is an inexpensive evaluation platform designed to help you quickly get started evaluating and developing the Hercules microcontroller platform. The LaunchPad Development Kit is based on IEC 61508 SIL 3 and ISO 26262 ASIL D certified TMS570LS1224, a step-by-step ARM® Cortex-R4F-based® MCU with integrated security features and peripherals such as two 12-bit ADCs, programmable High-End. timers, motor control peripherals (eQEP, eCAP, ePWM), USB, Ethernet, MibSPI and serial communication interfaces. Hercules TMS570 MCUs can help reduce development efforts of ISO 26262 and IEC 61508 functional safety applications.
LauchPad includes built-in emulation for programming and debugging, push buttons, LEDs and ambient light sensor, and two standard 40-pin BoosterPack expansion connectors (only one header is attached) to support a wide range of add-on BoosterPack modules for additional functionality
